Whitpain is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors elected at-large by the electorate. Most, if not all, of the executive and legislative powers allocated to Whitpain Township by the State are vested in the Board. As part of their responsibilities, the Supervisors approve or deny land development applications and appoint the members of the Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board.

Zoning Hearing Board:
Regular monthly meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the third Thursday of the month. The Board encourages all residents to attend hearings. Parents may find it an interesting educational process for their youngsters.

Regular monthly meetings are held at 7:30 PM on the second Tuesday of the month (except in August when the Commission is in recess).
